So…… Lok is from a
town called Mugling which is the central cross point for the main highways
going to Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara in Nepal. It is situated alongside the
Trisuli River, famous for rafting and kayaking.
Lok’s Mum still lives in the family home in Mugling, but unfortunately
Lok’s father passed away 9 years ago.
He has 4 other siblings – Kaushila, Kali, Devi and Maila. Kali
and his wife Babita have 2 gorgeous girls, Elisha and Esha and live in
Kathmandu. Kali often travels to Japan and Bhutan on rafting and kayaking expeditions,
so it is always lovely to see him when he is back in Nepal. Maila owns a
kayaking/rafting company in Kathmandu and is well known for his rhyming
language skills and being the whitewater kayaking champion for the last couple
of years! Lok’s sisters are both married, Kaushila lives just around the corner
from us with Binita and Bishal, her 2 children – well I should say adults now.
We are often at her place as she makes the best sukiti in Nepal! Devi, Lok’s second sister lives in Aabu
Khaireni, just 15 minutes drive from Mugling. Her husband works abroad and she
lives with her 2 beautiful children Pujan and Punam. Lok is the baby of the
family, just like me!
Lok has always been really keen with adventurous activities,
and that is how we met, but now he is very committed to his web development and
design course. He loves to design new graphics and learn more about 3D and 4D
effects - something that I don’t have a clue about – and making this blog
design!
I’m from Bentley, a very small rural village in the south of
England. My father, Richard, works in London and my mother, Sue, is kept very
busy with her projects in the garden and looking after my father! My older
sister, Emma, is married to a Dutch man called Matt. They live in Holland with
my amazing nephew, Joseph, and niece, Naarah. Stephen, my older brother, lives
in London with his partner Tamzin, their dog Dasher, and now their beautiful
new addition, Blake.
I have been living and working in Nepal for the last 3 ½
years. I originally came to Nepal to volunteer as a physiotherapist at a Spinal
Rehabilitation Centre and then worked for Projects Abroad for 2 years. After a
break back to the UK for 7 months, I returned to Nepal and I’m now working for
Global Vision International.
We have always been very supportive and helpful in each
other’s careers and lives and it has always been especially hard for us to live
apart …….. So we now feel that this is the right time for us to get married!
We have set up this blog in order to keep you all updated
with all our exciting plans. We hope that you will all wish us luck in our next
steps! And any advice would be great in order to make this a great wedding!
